TUPTON POWERING FORWARD

ITS MUDDY AND WET AS TUPTON WIN AGAIN

A resolute performance by Tupton against a determined visitors effort on a damp and muddy North Side pitch was a credit to the home side who continue their journey towards the top spots of the league table.
PRE MATCH MINUTES SILENCE

After some weeks of bad weather before this first sporting event of 2023 Rugby Union in the guise of Tupton would again be on the cards as the still wet pitches and bloggers timescale meant an all encouraging visit to the lads at 'The Rec'.  Apologies for the late appearance of this blog and since this blog there has been no other sport to report due to other commitments, hopefully back on the hopping again shortly.
JORDAN WHITES EARLY PENALTY GIVES TUPTON THE LEAD

Todays game saw both first and seconds along with their opponents observe a minutes silence in a typically respectful format for the sport of rugby union.
Todays visitors Dronfield were at the wrong end of the table while Tupton were positioned in mid table with eyes on a rise up the positional ladder.  Indeed in the time since this game was seen and written up Tupton remained unbeaten over the following five games including an away win at local rivals Chesterfield Panthers, enough to take them into a very creditable second spot.
STORMING FORWARD

Tupton were ahead as early as the fourth minute when Jordan White converted a penalty awarded in front of the sticks.  The home side were 10-0 to the good by the interval following a flowing move that saw Jake Cooper go over and White convert to make the break a comfortable one.
TIME FOR A MINUTE

The second half was a war of attrition but the early action saw Tupton extend their lead when White broke through and touched down behind the posts to ease his conversion to make it 17-0 after 42 minutes.  There was in footballing terms some midfield stuff for most of the half as Dronfield battled on admirably until five minutes from the end when Cooper went over for his second try of the afternoon to give Tupton a 22-0 victory at the final whistle.
SOME CLOSE UP ACTION

As ever its not my comfort zone sport but always a pleasure to catch up with the club with thanks again to Bob Curry for his help with my 'is the fixture on' enquiries.
HANDS UP WITH WE ARE ALL TUPTON

With the light fading and a squelchy exit from pitch side it was good to start the walk back to base but also a nice afternoon out watching some sport something that had been missing for a month.
Hopefully sport continues shortly and it will also feature a bit of rugby too as well as football now the weather is improving.
READY TO OFFLOAD

With apologies for not being able to name most of the players I must up my knowledge of who is who in the side and squad at North Side.
TUPTON MAKE THE BREAK

Finally no chips from that excellent village chippy it was back to base for some oven ready ones and a relax down and I never once mentioned rugby union players favourite question 'is the bar open yet', oops.
