BROMSGROVE VICTORIOUS IN THE DERBYSHIRE MIST

BORROWASH VICS 0 V BROMSGROVE SPORTING 5
FA VASE 2ND ROUND @ SOUTH NORMANTON [26 NOV 2014]
A storming performance from Sporting saw them secure five second half goals, something they could easily have achieved in the first half too, to storm into the third round of the FA Vase.

The game itself was a unique match following Borrowash's vandalism their changing rooms were unusable and following FA rejections of other suggestions South Normanton stepped in to stage this fixture something that put on another half an hour onto the trip for the visitors.  Two hour though was not enough to stop these enthusiastic Bromsgrove fans who cheered their team on all night.
The Sth Normanton playing surface is an excellent advert for the club and provided a wonderful game of football on this foggy night.  The first half had seen Bromsgrove miss quite a few opportunities to take and extend a lead but it remained goal less at half time.

The second half was all Bromsgrove as they scored three goals in four minutes before adding two more to gain a comfortable victory on the night.  Simon Brain completed a quality hat trick and the speed and attacking determination of the Bromsgrove side was a pleasure to see in the way they approached the game.

I will certainly look to cover Bromsgrove for a future blog while wishing them all the best in the next round one has to have every thought for Borrowash.  Their tremendous efforts to keep a club going in the terrible circumstances of vandalism are to be admired and the small band of volunteers hopefully will find the desire to keep going.  It was good to see them re issue the programme from Saturdays postponed game and make every effort to be at South Normanton early to welcome visitors early to Lees Lane.
